I. Cancellation, Makeup and Refund Policies
- Our sessions closely follow the Henrico County School semester system. Students are expected to attend regularly scheduled lessons each week for the entire session. Lessons are not held on the following holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day. The Center is closed for Spring Break according to the Henrico County schedule and for the last two weeks of December. See our Calendar for vacation and AutoPay dates.
- Cancellations: Each student is allowed one (1) Excused Cancellation per semester. Excused cancellations are entitled to a refund or a makeup lesson – makeup lessons will be given at the teacher’s discretion at the end of the session (1 Excused Cancellation per session). Cancellations are excused ONLY if 24 hours notice is given by speaking with Richmond Piano staff by phone or in person. No email cancellations accepted. Refunds or makeup lessons are not given for Unexcused Cancellations such as missed lessons.
- Makeup Lessons are given ONLY for Excused Cancellations, instructor absences or emergency store closings (inclement weather or power outage). We reserve the right to substitute instructors.
- No refunds or credits are issued if the scheduled make-up lesson is missed.
- If a student cannot complete the session, the Music Administrator must be notified one week before the end of the monthly billing cycle. No refunds are given after monthly billing. All discounts are void with cancellation before the end of the session.
- Lessons times will not be held open for students taking a leave of absence.
- Richmond Piano offers a 10% discount for full Semester Payments. Session Payments must be made by AutoPay. Account drafts will be made on the first day of each session.
- Tuition can be paid monthly by enrolling in AutoPay or by invoice.
- Lessons are $30 per half-hour per student, with a one-time enrollment fee of $25 per family.
- New Students: Payment for four (4) lessons plus enrollment fee must be made before the first lesson.
- Tuition payments are not transferrable to another account, month or session.
- A $25 late fee is added to balances 30 days past due. $25.00 returned check fee.
- Make checks payable to: Richmond Piano. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are also accepted.
- Students: arrive 5 minutes early to begin lesson promptly. Lessons are scheduled every half-hour, so tardiness cannot be accommodated.
- Be courteous to other students. Leave the studio promptly and quietly after your lesson.
- Keep nails trimmed.
- Wash hands before piano lessons.
- Take care of personal needs (bathroom, water, hand washing) before your lesson.
- Food and drink are prohibited in the studios.
- Parents: please keep children in the designated waiting area. Do not allow children to play unattended in the store or to play on showroom pianos.
